Galatians and Ephesians

From death to life, from separation to unity, from enemies of God to coheirs with Christ. These are just a few of the ways Jesus’s death and resurrection changed the world, and they are also the central themes Paul wrote about in his letters to the believers gathered in Galatia and Ephesus. But Paul did not just point them to the truth, he challenged his fellow Christians to allow that truth to inform everything in their lives—to fully embrace their identity as children of God. In this six-week reading plan, we’ll explore what it means to belong in the kingdom of God, learning how to live with and love one another as imitators of Christ.

I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
—Galatians 2:21

For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift—not from works, so that no one can boast.
—Ephesians 2:8–9

Philippians and Colossians

Jesus Christ is above all things and before all things, yet He demonstrated the truest form of humility by taking on human likeness and offering His life up for the redemption of His creation. Paul unpacked these parts of Jesus’s identity in his letters to the churches in Philippi and Colossae, instructing the believers on how to imitate Christ in every aspect of life. Believers are encouraged to keep straining toward Christ, knowing that following Jesus is worth whatever cost it requires of us. Join us in this four-week study of Philippians and Colossians to discover endless ways our Lord and Savior is worthy of our praise.

For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. —Philippians 1:21

He is before all things, and by him all things hold together. —Colossians 1:17
